Episodes now with transcripts

I've started adding transcripts to comics. Currently only new comics will have transcripts, but gradually I'll add transcripts to the archives. You can choose to "Show" or "Hide" transcripts, which will save a cookie to your browser ("Show stores the cookie, "Hide" deletes it). Transscripts are visible on the episode pages (permalinks) only, and not on the home page.

If you ticked the "Remember me?" box on the comment form, you can now keep up to date with comments on the episodes that you have previously commented on yourself via an RSS feed. You still have the Latest Activity page (all comments), and the individual episode comments feeds too. (What is RSS?)

Guest Strip for Irregular Webcomic!

Tranquility Base has contributed a strip to Irregular Webcomic's "Guest Week": Tranquility Base: The RPG.

Other BCN authors have also contributed -- so far, BlockTales, YOLT and Legostar Galactica have appeared.

Social Media Sharing

There are now "social media" sharing icons for the comic (actually, just moved them from the top of the page and rejigged). Personally, I'm not into social media... not that there's anything wrong with that, some of my best friends do Facebook and/or Twitter!

Anyway, if you are into social media, you can now easily share/bookmark episodes via your preferred social media service (or even by anti-social email) using the handy-dandy icons under the episode navigation bar. If you'd rather share the main homepage, instead of an individual episode, scroll to the bottom of the page and use the tools there. In either case, the orange icon with a white plus sign on it expands the list of options.

I completely forgot to mention it on Saturday, but Tranquility Base is now four years old. The first episode was published on 27th August 2007.

Thanks to reader (and fellow comicer) Harlquinth, who saved a lot of episodes to disc, I've managed to restore the missing comments. I'm 99% sure they are all restored!

An Apology

Due to what shall henceforth be known as "The Incident", all of the comments got deleted from the database.

Good news: I was able to revert to a back-up copy.

Bad news: unfortunately, the most recent back-up is nearly a month old, so any comments made since episode #316 have been lost forever. Sorry.

Smeg-ups and Contest Deadlines

Due to a smeg-up, there is no new Vote Incentive for 15th June, we'll start again next week (22nd June). Also, Legostar Galactica has extended the deadline for the Sci-fi Minifig Lookalike Contest to 30th June 2011.

New Feature: Save your Archive Position

Those of you reading through the archives, you now have a handy way to save your current position. On each episode's navigation bar (next/prev link area) are three new options: "Save", "Load" and "Clear". Press "Save" to save your current location (saves a cookie to your browser); press "Load" to return to your saved location at a future date; and press "Clear" to delete your saved location.
