Episode Notes

This is a sequel to episode #398. Yes, I decided to join the 21st Century and get myself a smartphone.

So far I've used it to upload stupid photos to Flickr and exchange pointless texts with my sister. It's what technology was invented for!

A note about dates: All comics "beyond the fourth wall" (with mum and me) are in present-day real-time.

Transcript

Panels 1-2: A sequence of SMS messages as the Author and her Mother text each other via smartphones.

Various "beeps" and "tappity-tap" noises.

I'm so pleased I finally got my own smartphone!

I said you'd find it useful.
Author Avatar (via SMS):
I feel like a proper geek again.
Author's Mother (via SMS):
If you say so.
Author Avatar (via SMS):
It's so much easier to keep in contact with you by SMS!
Author's Mother (via SMS):
Yes, no matter where you are.
Panel 3: The Author and her Mother are revealed to be sitting in the same room, next to the same coffee table.
Author's Mother (talking out loud):
So, are you actually going to speak to anybody ever again?
SFX:
Tappity-tap. {{on keyboard}}
Beep!
Author Avatar (via SMS):
Nope.
Caption:
Photos actually taken with my smartphone, just because I can!
