Episode Notes

You can't argue when it's For Science! You can argue when it's something suggested by a marketing department, though.

Transcript

Panel 1: Admiral Slog and Commandant Thalamus are still having a meeting.
Admiral Slog:
So, tell me about the Chandelier Project, and why it is so named?
Commandant Thalamus:
We shall be "Illuminating the Universe with Science."
Admiral Slog:
How, exactly?
Commandant Thalamus:
By building one of the most powerful computers ever known.
Panel 2:
Commandant Thalamus:
It will enable scientists to collaborate on more complex and computationally demanding research than ever before.
Admiral Slog:
Ahh, that's why you want access to our bigger dish network?
How far have you got with the project?
Panel 3:
Commandant Thalamus:
As we speak, Doctor Medulla is back on Cynaptix IV working on a prototype interface upon whom, uh… with which, we can test the basic system.
We are, however, still trying to iron out some of the kinks.
Panel 4:
Admiral Slog:
Okay, well good luck with that, I look forward to a progress report.
So, "illuminating the Universe with Science," huh? Who thought that one up?
Commandant Thalamus:
{{Sigh}} The marketing department thought it sounded catchy.
We are thinking of declaring Marketing a non-science and having them all report to the Medical Research Facility.
