Ok, I'm mixing two real world ideas here. Firstly, the use of dogs to deploy bombs (all the dogs lived happily ever after on farms) and booby traps disguised as poop. In the real world, the UK's wartime SOE (Special Operations Executive, 1940-1946) developed booby traps that looked like camel dung for use in the North African campaign.
