I meant to do this (dreadful pun) joke when the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) went into operation. It, of course, is looking for the Higgs boson.

A boatswain (pronounced "bosun") is a searfaring rank; however, sci-fi space travel borrows from naval tradition, so I feel justified in using it, even though the Higgs "boson" is pronounced "bozon" - it's a visual pun. I did say it was dreadful.

Oh, and this comic and Tranquility Base being British, "lieutenant" is pronounced "LEFtenant"!
