Episode Notes

The end of the "Grandfather Paradox" time travel story, and it turns out to be a predestination paradox! He was meant to go back in time and become his own ancestor -- the altered time line was necessary to set in motion the chain of events that conspire to keep him stranded in the past.

Most people think of the patrilinear line in terms of becoming one's own ancestor, but the matrilinear line would be much harder to spot. Although for my purposes it was necessary to have the final "maiden name" change with the time traveller's mother.

We still don't know what the contents of the letter to "Captain" Hudson are, or what Ensign Hudson will make of it... one day we might find out.
