My best guess so far is that the implant will take over his brain when the aliens want it to, or won't be usable against them.

Of course, if the aliens haven't programmed the implant properly, there is the additional chance of malfunction, and they could find themselves with a loose cannon that's partially controlled by an alien with a cybernetic implant that's malfunctioned and is exceedingly dangerous, so they'll have to use a self-destruct device that stops the implant - and possibly whoever has had it implanted - from working! :D

Why am I not spoiler tagging this? Well, this should be obvious to most of our readers, but if Louise really wants it spoiler tagged she can do so! ;)

    Nice try ;-)

If I was going to spoiler tag reader predictions, I'd have to spoiler tag all of them, whether they were right or wrong to prevent confirmation of a correct guess (and then there'd be a chance I'd miss something). I would make the comments, uh... challenging... to read.

I will spoiler tag very detailed/explicit references to things that have already occurred (within a few weeks) that might spoil things for future readers/archive bingers/catcher-uppers. I'll also spoiler tag spoilers for other comics/tv shows/films, especially where it's released in some places before others.
