Episodes now with transcripts

Posted: 1 month ago

I've started adding transcripts to comics. Currently only new comics will have transcripts, but gradually I'll add transcripts to the archives. You can choose to "Show" or "Hide" transcripts, which will save a cookie to your browser ("Show stores the cookie, "Hide" deletes it). Transscripts are visible on the episode pages (permalinks) only, and not on the home page.

Much is made of the fact that they can't create a new Emergency Medical Hologram (E.M.H., or "Holodoc") should the existing one go on the blink - and there have been episodes built around this situation. When he does malfunction, there appears to be no back-up; they can only reboot him to his pre "Character Development" self.

Except... except... that one episode where they create a completely different holographic doctor for Holodoc to consult with, and the episode set hundreds of years in the future where, somehow, a copy of the Holodoc got left with some debris from Voyager, and he appears to have the same level of knowledge (memory) as the Holodoc in the series continuity up to that point -- so is that a back-up copy?

Honestly, why on Earth don't they schedule regular (daily) back-ups of the Doc's program? The excuse that it takes up too much space is a load of spherical dangly bits - delete some of the holodeck progams if you need to.

News: This episode marks the end of my summer hiatus (aestivation). You can keep up-to-date with the latest Tranquility Base news on the News page or with the News Feed.
