I've started adding transcripts to comics. Currently only new comics will have transcripts, but gradually I'll add transcripts to the archives. You can choose to "Show" or "Hide" transcripts, which will save a cookie to your browser ("Show stores the cookie, "Hide" deletes it). Transscripts are visible on the episode pages (permalinks) only, and not on the home page.
Yep, it's the return of Peter Reid's (legoloverman) robots. This time they have their own TV show, a device that means I can bring them back from time to time without needing any sort of continuity.
This episode was controversial* for the discussion it caused about what the joke was. It seemed to me to work on several levels, so I don't care if people laughed at something that wasn't actually the intended joke.
For the record, it's illustrating how robots don't understand the subtleties of language involved in telling a joke and they manage to suck all the humour out of a simple playground joke by using their elaborate scientific language. Data in Star Trek the Next Generation has a similar problem.
The joke they are telling is:
- My dog has no nose.
- How does he smell?
- Terrible!
I never said the joke was actually funny.
This episode marks a slight change in style with a different font used for the Tranquility Base titles and speech bubble text (although in this episode the robotic speech uses a different font to human speech anyway).

* but not as controversial as the "there's always a bigger dish" episode in Brick Issue #14.
